Effective October 22, 2026

emoji.today is made by Leftway Labs Limited (“Leftway”, “we”). In the app you sign in with a Leftway Account. The Leftway Privacy Policy covers that account: your phone number, sign-in, fraud checks, your rights, and deleting your account. This page covers only what emoji.today adds on top. Read the two together.

We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and the app doesn’t track you across other apps.

Your votes

When you vote we store the emoji, the day, the time, and who cast it (your account, or your Farcaster ID on the website). Vote counts are public: everyone sees how many votes each emoji got and which emoji won each day, and the daily winner is shared on our social channels. Those posts show totals, never who voted.

On the website, if you vote with Farcaster, your Farcaster username and profile picture can appear publicly next to your votes, on voter lists, leaderboards, and profile pages, because Farcaster profiles are public. We also keep your past Farcaster usernames so those pages stay consistent.

In the iPhone app

  • Diagnostics. Crash reports, performance timings, and which screens and buttons were used, with your device model and iOS version, go to our monitoring provider (Datadog) so we can fix problems. They aren’t linked to your account.
  • Reminders to vote are scheduled on your phone and never leave it.
  • Notifications. If you allow them, the app registers your device to get a notification when the day’s winner is in. That registration isn’t linked to your account.
  • The widget only reads the public results.

On the website

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics, PostHog, and Vercel Analytics to see how the site is used: pages viewed, votes cast, and results shared. If you sign in with Farcaster, PostHog events are linked to your Farcaster ID and wallet address.
  • Cookies and storage. A sign-in cookie if you sign in, your language, your display settings, and the cookies or storage the analytics tools above use.
  • Fraud checks on web votes. When you vote, your browser computes an identifier for itself (on your device; nothing goes to a third party to do it). We send it, with your IP address and browser type, to Leftway Accounts, which keeps the IP address only as a one-way hash. It tells us when one browser votes as several people. See “How we keep it to real people” in the Leftway Privacy Policy.
  • Farcaster sign-in and mini app. We keep your Farcaster ID and username, and your wallet address if you sign in with a wallet. We look up your public Farcaster profile (name and picture) through Neynar to show it. If you turn on notifications in the Farcaster mini app, we keep the notification token until you turn them off.
  • Crypto payments. If you pay for a vote or mint with USDC on Base, your wallet address and the transaction are recorded on the public Base blockchain, permanently, and we keep a copy.

Who helps us run emoji.today

On top of the providers in the Leftway Privacy Policy: Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Google (Analytics), PostHog (analytics), Datadog (app diagnostics), Neynar (Farcaster profiles), Upstash (mini app notification tokens), and Apple (notifications). Our vote database runs on our own servers in the United States. Each provider handles information only to provide its service to us.

How long we keep it

Votes are part of the permanent daily record. When you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, we remove your account and either delete your votes or detach them from you, so they only count in the totals. Analytics data is kept for the retention period of each analytics provider. Blockchain records can’t be deleted.

Deleting your data

In the app: open the You tab and tap Delete account. That deletes your Leftway Account as described in the Leftway Privacy Policy. For anything else, including website and Farcaster data, email [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
